Olive Tree Kokedama | Elegant Living Planter with a Touch of Tradition

Olive trees have a long history as one of the oldest cultivated trees in the world. The Common Olive Tree (Olea europaea) is a popular variety for houseplants. It features small, silvery, gray-green leaves and a graceful silhouette that give it an elegant appearance.

Kokedamas are an ancient form of Japanese Bonsai that dates to around 1600 AD. These living planters are made with moss, soil, twine, and a plant. They have a sunny disposition and are low maintenance.

Olive trees thrive in Mediterranean climates, and require plenty of sunlight. South and west-facing windows are ideal for direct sunlight. They are relatively easy to care for, naturally resistant to drought and pests and are pet friendly. 

Use a balanced liquid fertilizer weekly at quarter strength or at half strength every two weeks. Stop fertilizing during the winter when plant growth slows.

Kokedama plants come as shown, wrapped in moss , in your choice of a small terra cotta tray in either  Basic Planter, Tray White Patina with a Tray for Basic Planter, Grey Patina

Please note that the kokedamas you receive may be smaller and less mature than the ones photographed. They will be eager for growth in their new home!
